Family Portrait in Breckenridge

One of the details you’ll notice in most of our photographs are the Rocky Mountains as a background.  It started long ago when clients would come to us saying they want something that “says Colorado” and features the mountains.  Over time, I realized that there are three different mountain looks that best say “Colorado”, such as the red rocks, the front range or the high alpine.  Each provides a uniquely different look so it all depends on the look and style that best suits you.  Colorado is famous for “Reds Rocks Park and Amphitheater” which is one on the most iconic vistas just west of Denver.   It has also featured the best bands and musicians of our time.  It’s a great place too photograph and for those who have a a personal connection, can make it a special place to capture a family photograph.  The front range mountains are a hallmark and offer a distinctive look which serves as a gateway to the Rocky Mountains.  If you’ve ever spent any time in or around Denver, you never get tired of looking west at the mountains as every day displays a new vista and no two sunsets are ever the same.  The high alpine is the term I use to describe the mountain peaks that rise above the timberline.

It is also where most major ski resorts are located.  Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone offer world class locations in and around Summit County and are an easy drive from Denver.  Aspen, Crested Butte and Telluride feature amazing peaks with their own distinct personalities.  The beauty of photographing in and around these mountain locations is that every day is different. No two days ever look the same regardless of the season.  And it’s beyond awe-inspiring to capture your family in these unbelievable settings.
